PARISH PICNIC SUNDAY 11:30 – 2:30

Plan on joining us this Sunday from 11:30 – 2:30 for the Annual Queens Parish Picnic in Vincentian Hall.  Sponsored by the Parish Life Commission, there will be free hot dogs and hamburgers, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and cookies.  For the kids, there is a bounce house, the bean bag toss and road rally games.

RESCUED WEEK TWO

With pre-registrations and walk-ins, more than 180 people have signed up for The Rescue Project!  Many had a great experience the first night and it is not too late for you to join us.  You can use the link above or show up at the door.  The Rescue Project will meet in the Queens School Gym on Tuesdays from 6pm – 8:30pm beginning with dinner.  It is FREE!

We are catering each week instead of trying to pull off a potluck, but you can help bring homemade desserts.  Use the sign up genius link below if you can bring a dessert for any of the six remaining dinners.

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP AT QUEENS

Very few people have shown up so far. I would hate to see this canceled when there is so much need.  Please consider coming to the Grief Support Group on Friday mornings at 9:30am in the St Catherine Room of the Parish Office.  This is led by a licensed counselor from Catholic Charities.

BLESSING OF PETS SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30, 10AM – MEMORIAL GARDEN

Wednesday October 4th is the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of pets and animals.  To honor the occasion, we will offer the Annual Pet Blessings in the Queens Memorial Garden next Saturday September 30 at 10am.  Bring them all. Bless them all. Love them all.

THE LIFE CHAIN
SUNDAY OCTOBER 1
2:30 – 3:30

Please set aside one hour next Sunday the 1st and join us for the Life Chain on Michigan Avenue and stand up for the unborn and pray to end abortion.  This is not a protest. It is a silent prayer vigil.  You can pick up signs prior to 1:30pm at the school end of the Queens parking lot.  Our parishioners will be lined up on the north side of Michigan Avenue from West Ave to Bowen St.

You might then also consider joining us for the Annual Public Rosary downtown at Blackman Park near the old Hayes Hotel at 2pm on Sunday October 8th.  This event features a Eucharistic procession, the patriotic rosary and the sung chaplet of Divine Mercy.
