The Jackson Regional Youth Group is open to all 6th-12th grade students. The Jackson Regional Youth Group seeks to form themselves after the image and likeness of Jesus Christ through a radical living out of the Gospel that inspires and ignites the Holy Spirit in their hearts, so that they may be empowered to “go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature.”
In honor of Allhallowtide (All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day), the Jackson Youth Group will be cleaning St. John’s Cemetery on Sunday, November 1, from 1-2pm, and finish by praying the Office of the Dead in the Liturgy of the Hours at 2pm. We should be done between 2:15-2:30pm. Hope you’ll join us!We have reserved 20 spots for students to attend Alive in You this upcoming summer in Duluth, MN. Spots are filling up quickly, so reserve yours now. Send me an email to reserve a spot. Alive in You is a great summer camp for young Catholics to not only learn more about their faith, but to put that faith into action by serving the community throughout the week.
From their website: “Alive in You began in 2006, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, when we coordinated hundreds of young Catholics to travel to New Orleans and serve in communities devastated by the storm. What began as a powerful response to an extraordinary need became the foundation for a ministry dedicated for forming young people through Sacraments, service and community.
The vision of Alive in You is to enable our participants to open their hearts and allow Christ to become the center of their lives. Our goal is to educate, motivate and provide young people with a life changing Catholic experience.”
Alive in You is certainly a growing and impactful ministry, and last year they brought in popular Catholic comedian, Shayne Smith. This year, we’re blessed to have Fr. Mike Schmitz join us all week at the Duluth location, as we learn about our faith and serve the community.
Alive in You is open to those entering 8th-12th grades for the 2027-2028 school year. The cost is $460 per student to attend, though we cover $100 per student, so each student is responsible for $360. The host facility will be the University of Wisconsin-Superior, which fun fact, Arnold Schwarzenegger is an alumni of.Check out our Youth Ministry YouTube series, where we explore various topics regarding the Catholic faith.
