MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY

May is the month dedicated to Our Lady and the rosary.  The diocese has been publishing a series of articles on visits to sites of Marian shrines.  This article ran yesterday on the diocesan website.  It recounts my visit to the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal in Paris in 1997.  This is a story I shared with the Ladies of the Queens Guild when they crowned the Blessed Mother this past Tuesday evening:

LAST CALL FOR THE 2023 DSA

In 2022, Queens received 606 DSA gifts.  In 2023, we have received 57 fewer with 549.  We are $35,283 over goal, half of which will come back to us, but that number is still $7,500 less than we raised last year.  The 57 fewer gifts could easily be made if those who gave last year who haven’t in 2023 would make a gift of any size.  That would bring us to 40% participation, which shouldn’t be a target goal, but rather a minimum level of engagement we don’t let ourselves fall below.  Ideally, everyone who attends Mass here and/or reads this would make a gift in support of our bishop, our diocese and the 100 programs and ministries kept alive with funds from the Diocesan Services Appeal.  Thank you so very much to the 549 who are our most faithful supporters.  Your DSA gifts does indeed make a difference.

The Bishop wants to thank everyone himself but that is not practical or possible.  He did record a message of thanks to you all that you can watch here:

There is still time for you to make a gift to the 2023 DSA if you have not already done so.  You could be the 607th Queens donor that helps us surpass last year’s donor total!
