EASTER EGG HUNT
MOVING INDOORS TODAY

Due to the rainy conditions today, the Parish Life Commission will give out eggs in Seton Hall on the lower level of the parish office at 10:30 today.  It will not be as cute or exciting as watching the children race through the rectory yard, but they will get the candy they crave and we will not be stuck with mountains of eggs tempting our staff!  Park in the usual place at the parish office and parish life commission members will meet you at the doors to direct your family to seton hall for the distribution of the eggs.

EASTER BASKET FOOD BLESSING
11:30 TODAY

If you have prepared a basket of Easter foods in the old Polish tradition, you are welcome to bring them to Church at 11:30 this morning to have them blessed by Deacon Pat.  May these blessed foods lead to a joy-filled family feast celebrating Jesus’ Resurrection.

EASTER MASSES AT QUEENS

This weekend, for Easter Sunday (March 31st) we have again changed the Mass schedule to help with crowds and parking, and taking longer Masses into account.  Please notify your out-of-town guests who may be joining us.  There will be overflow seating in Vincentian Hall and Holy Communion will be brought down to those in the hall.

25TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY WIDE
EASTER DINNER

Please don’t forget to show up and work your shift if you volunteered for the Easter Dinner and help us welcome our many honored guests who bless us with their presence year after year.  Thank you to the committee chairs and all those who help to make this dinner a success that builds Christian community and gives glory to God.

The DSA allows us to work together to build the Kingdom of God by building up the Church on earth.  I included the link below to the Bishop’s message for those who missed it or who would like to take another look at it.

The Bishop and I invite you to make a pledge or one-time gift to support the 2024 Diocesan Services Appeal and help to fund 100 vital programs and ministries.  You will be supporting the televised Outreach Mass, the care of our senior priests and training of future pastors, the many programs of Catholic Charities, the marriage Tribunal and so much more.

The Diocese seeks to raise $5,750,000.  Queens goal is $220,214.  While it’s always important to meet the goal, it’s even more important to bring more people onto the team that gets us across the finish line.  I will be looking for all the donors to DSA 2023 to come back and I hope that those who can’t remember the last time you made a DSA pledge to please join us this year.  And if you’ve never supported DSA ever, put a twenty in the envelopes at the doors of church and throw it in the collection.

This is the Queens DSA Report as of March 28

Pledges:  $157,573 (72% of Goal:  $220,214)

Distance to Goal:  $62,641

Number of donors:  363 (23% parish participation)

The Resurrection has been the hope of Christians for 2,000 years, strengthening the suffering and the persecuted and helping countless people to carry burdensome crosses knowing and believing that one day we shall exchange them for crowns of glory.

May the empty tomb fill our hearts with faith and happiness.  A Blessed Easter to you all!

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teaching” (Heb 13:8-9).
