ADVENT CONTINUES COME, LORD JESUS
|
Mass attendance was down last weekend due to the weather. That means we still have many free copies of the Advent Magnificat Companion for your daily devotions this Advent. Pick one up after Mass. Please – one copy per household.
We also have put out the 2026 wall calendars. This supply is even tighter. Please don’t take a stack to hand out to family and friends. Our gratitude to the Desnoyer/Hampton Funeral Homes for making these available to us at their expense, not ours!
Take a good look at the penance schedule below. Note that Queens will have our penance service a week from Wednesday. Notice also that the St. John penance service on Thursday 12/18 was moved to the St. Joseph Oratory.

HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION MONDAY DECEMBER 8 IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
|
Monday December 8th is the Immaculate Conception, the patronal feast of the Catholic Church in the United States. It is also a holy day of obligation. Queens will have Masses at 6:45am 9am and 5:30pm. The Immaculate Conception commemorates our belief that Mary was chosen from before her birth and conceived without sin in the womb of her mother St. Anne, all in preparation to be the first tabernacle where Jesus, the ‘Word Made Flesh’ could dwell among us.

Tomorrow, the Knights will bake 1,000 cinnamon rolls! Come with cash to Mass to get some takeout boxes after. You won’t regret donating toward the purchase of these sweet and tasty treats while supporting the fine work of the Jackson Community Food Pantry.

COMMUNITY WIDE CHRISTMAS DINNER SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER
|
If your family like so many others celebrates family Christmas on Christmas Eve or even earlier than that, please consider volunteering for the Community Wide Dinner this year. It takes the efforts of hundreds of people to make this dinner happen. There will be shifts for set up, serving and clean up, so even if you can’t help Christmas day, perhaps you could help the day before or after.

JCS GREAT 50/50 RAFFLE TICKETS NOW ON SALE
|
Stuff someone’s stocking this Christmas with a Great 50/50 Super Raffle Ticket to benefit Jackson Catholic Schools. I will have tickets for sale after Masses this weekend. They can be purchased at the parish or school office during the week.
|
The Queens Online Giving Hub is a great way for you to channel your charitable giving to the place or cause you want your money to support. By clicking the link below, you can see the various causes we support as a parish and partner with us to make a gift of your own. You can donate toward St. Vincent de Paul or the Jackson Community Food Pantry, youth and young adult ministry (new link added), and even the prison Bible fund. 200 Bibles were distributed to Jackson inmates in 2025 thanks to your generosity and we just ordered 200 more so we need to replenish that fund also.

Truth, beauty and goodness are found in God, in His mercy, and in the one, holy, Catholic and apostolic Church founded by His son.
