QUEENS SUMMER
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
‘THANKS EVERYONE!’

I was not able to send out an e-mail to everyone last weekend but I didn’t want to let the chance pass me by to say THANK YOU to everyone who played a part in the 2024 Queens Summer Vacation Bible School which came to a close a week ago today.

Special thanks goes to ‘Bible School Betsy’ Koval for her countless hours of intense effort before, during and after VBS to make is a success, set decorators Elizabeth Mangold and Neil Hardcastle and his family, station leaders, crew leaders, all volunteers, our office, school and maintenance staff who pitched in, and Janet Merrill and Jeannette Lienhart for the Friday lunch.  We are also thankful for the donations that keep costs down and to all the families who entrust us with your children year after year.

CHAPEL ADORER NEEDED

We have had all kinds of movement on the adoration chapel schedule in recent weeks and people have stepped up to fill those gaps.  There is only one hour left needing a weekly commitment:

Saturday 8pm

THE JACKSON YOUTH MASS
AND YOUTH GROUP MEETINGS
SUNDAYS AT THE ST JOSEPH
YOUTH GROUP HQ

Jackson Area Director of Youth Discipleship Jake Gerber invites ALL area youth to attend the Sunday evening 5pm Youth Mass at the St. Joseph Oratory Youth Group HQ.  Families and all Catholics are welcome.  We are looking for youth to step up to help with music, serving, lectoring, etc.

Teens are also welcome and encouraged to attend Youth Group meetings every Sunday, also at St. Joe, the new HQ for Jackson Catholic youth ministry.  This is a mixture of faith, fun and fellowship.

The Youth Room is in the lower level of the former parish office just south of the church (see diagram below).  Youth Group is split into two sessions:  grades 6-8 meet in the youth room from 3:15 – 4:45.  High school meets from 6 – 7:30pm.

There is a brand new 85 inch smart TV in there with a Nintendo Switch, plenty of snacks, ping pong, games and fun for all!  Come check it out!
