Making Progress

Several folks gathered to help get the pews out of the church last week. There was also a procession of cookies throughout the week. Along with “Thank you” cards from our school children, the cookies have been delivered to the various fire departments that responded and to the Jackson police station. A very special plate of cookies was delivered to officer Steve Scarpino [a parishioner] for his quick action. He had the presence of mind to go into the church and close the doors from the sacristies that lead out into the sanctuary. Of course he did this as the flames were popping out windows in the back.

Beginning this week we will have a brief feature in the bulletin to update you on our progress in restoring the church. The support of so many continues to be so strong. God is watching over us!

Church Update

-The interior cleaning continues.

-The pews have been removed.

-The flooring will need to be removed and replaced.

-Insurance adjusters, contractor, pastor and consulters are having weekly meetings.

-The Pastoral and Finance Council were called into session so decisions could be made on how to proceed with some issues that will need to be addressed as we begin to restore our worship space.
