Today we honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Tomorrow we honor the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Yesterday, to honor America’s 250th Birthday, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops consecrated our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus at the conclusion of their summer meeting in Orlando. This is the prayer for America that all the bishops prayed together:

O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: You know the longings of our hearts, and you desire that we enjoy friendship with you. From your pierced side, you have poured out the wellspring of life, for which we thirst. Your heart burns with a love for all people to return to a right relationship with you.

We celebrate the abundant gifts you have given this nation, founded on the self-evident truths that our Creator has endowed all people with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. 

We make reparation for the offenses against you and against human dignity that have taken place in this nation.  May our hearts be united to yours, so that our families and communities enjoy peace and happiness; may broken relationships be reconciled, injustices repaired, and the wounds of our land be healed. 

May your holy Catholic Church serve as a sign, pointing all people to your infinite love.  O Desire of Nations and Center of History, we ask you to bless these United States of America.  Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.

This is the last one until the fall. Join us after Mass on Sunday in Vincentian Hall.

So far 330 books have been picked up. That leaves 180 to go. IF you sat for a portrait or paid to submit a photo, you can still pick up your one free copy at Vincentian Hall after Mass this weekend.

For those who miss picking up your directory after Mass this weekend, they will also be available during the week at the parish office. We are open Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm.

Youth, young adult and adult volunteers will be needed in a variety of capacities all week long. This is a great way to earn service hours for schools. Please contact ‘Bible School Betsy’ if you can help or need more information: bkoval@queenschurch.com.

The early registration discount of $5 off is good until July 6. No family will pay for more than three registrations, the other kids in the house attend for free! So far, nearly 50 children have signed up. We expect to more than double that number before VBS begins.

This weekend the donation boards are out in the Carlton lobby and the elevator entrance. Please take the tags and remember to bring back soon what it is that you are donating toward the success of VBS! Please and thank you.

We sent out follow up letters three weeks ago to DSA donors from previous years. We only need 12 more donors to meet and exceed last year’s total number of DSA supporters. If you gave to DSA in 2025 and haven’t yet in 2026, please use the envelope that was sent to you or you can make a secure online donation using the link found below. Every dollar raised over goal is split 50/50 between the parish and the Diocese.
