This is a specialized practice of professional nursing that focuses on the promotion of health and minimizing illness in a faith community setting. The faith community nurse is an RN who is knowledgeable in two areas: professional nursing and an understanding of the relationship between faith and health.
The goals of Faith Community Nursing are to promote health, be a health educator, be a health advocate, and assist people in finding resources and care. Blood pressure clinics are held from October through May.
